Detailed answers to the most common questions about how AugurAI works.
How does the AI analysis actually work?
Our Python workers fetch real videos from each platform via official APIs and scrapers. The raw data is normalized into a common schema, then sent to GPT-4o with a structured prompt. The AI analyzes patterns across 7 dimensions: trending themes, viral hooks, retention tactics, hashtags, optimal posting times, outlier creators, and (for paid plans) Meta Ads competitor activity. The output is a structured JSON report rendered in your niche dashboard.
How often is the data collected and refreshed?
Niche Hub reports update on the cadence you choose when creating a niche — weekly (default), every two weeks, or monthly. Orbit Search always fetches fresh data on demand, regardless of cadence. Global Niches are updated weekly by the AugurAI team.
What's the difference between Niche Hub and Orbit Search?
Niche Hub is a permanent, automated tracker. You define it once and it runs on autopilot — collecting data, running AI analysis, and delivering a report on your schedule. Orbit Search is on-demand and ephemeral — ideal for quick research, client pitches, or exploring a new vertical before committing to a niche. Niche Hub costs 30 credits to create + 15 per update; Orbit Search costs 20 credits per search.
What exactly is the Outlier section?
Outlier lets you deep-dive into any public content creator across TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Enter a username, pick a platform, and we return their performance metrics: avg views, avg likes, avg comments, engagement rate, outlier ratio (max views ÷ avg views), and their top-performing videos. The outlier ratio tells you how explosive their upside is — a creator with a 10× ratio has had at least one video 10× bigger than their average.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You won't be able to create new niches, trigger niche updates, or run Orbit Searches until your credits reset at the start of the next billing cycle. Existing niches and their last reports remain accessible. You can also upgrade your plan at any time to get more credits immediately.
Do unused credits roll over?
No — credits reset on the 1st of each month and do not roll over. This keeps our infrastructure costs predictable and our pricing fair.
What regions are supported?
AugurAI currently supports Global, USA, LATAM, and Brazil as region filters. Region affects the AI context used during analysis (e.g. trending topics differ by market). Platform data is fetched globally unless you restrict it by region.
How accurate is the data?
Data is pulled directly from official APIs (YouTube Data API v3) and platform scrapers (Apify) that reflect real public metrics at the time of collection. View counts, like counts, and engagement rates are as accurate as the platform reports them publicly. AI analysis quality depends on the volume of videos collected — niches with more content produce richer reports.
Can I export my reports or data?
CSV and PDF export are on the roadmap for the Pro plan. Currently, reports are available in-app only. You can save individual videos to Collections and organize them by campaign or client.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your niche configurations, keywords, and reports are private to your account. The only exception is the Orbit Search Niche Marketplace, which shows community-created niche names and keywords (no usernames or account data). You can view the Marketplace but never see who created a specific niche.
